KBSU students were shown the danger of extremist ideology
November 14 at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov hosted a screening of the theatrical production “On the Edge”, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty (October 13).
The script of the winner of the republican script competition in the category “Prevention of Terrorism and Extremism” Tamerlan Kokov, the production of director Galina Saprykina and the selfless performance of the young actors of the creative team from the city of Nartkala did not leave any of the spectators indifferent.
And students from secondary educational institutions in the city of Nalchik and students from KBSU came to watch the performance.
Before the action began, the following words were heard from the stage:
“We dedicate this project to all those who died in terrorist attacks. To everyone who, at the cost of their own lives, saved children, old people, and women. Eternal memory to them.»
The plot is based on the exciting story of a college student, Zalina, who wants to be recruited by terrorists. The girl is torn by contradictions, her parents feel something is wrong, but do not know how to help their daughter. It seems that evil in the form of a certain Zukhra is about to win. And here chance helps: together with her classmates, Zalina goes on an excursion to the city of Beslan, where on September 1, 2004, a terrorist attack occurred at the first school, as a result of which 314 people died, 186 of which were children.
The guys and Zalina are shocked by what they saw of the “City of Angels” memorial complex and the story of one of the mothers of a first-grader who died during the terrorist attack.
The production also reflected the tragedy of October 2015, when a group of terrorists attacked the buildings of law enforcement agencies in Nalchik, repelling this attack, killing dozens of law enforcement officers who, at the cost of their lives, prevented the seizure of power in the republic.
In the play, good wins; the criminal plans of the recruiter Zukhra are not destined to come true. The heroine bravely passes all the tests and chooses the worthy path of an honest citizen of her country.
The production was prepared within the framework of the federal project “Youth of Russia” with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the KBR, the Ministry of Culture of the KBR and the local administration of the Urvansky district. Director Galina Saprykina was presented with a letter of gratitude from the Youth Government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic for her active work in the field of preventing terrorism and extremism among youth.
We hope that the goal of the performance – to develop among young people a sustainable rejection of the ideology of terrorism and extremism, and to promote the development of creative abilities – will be achieved,
– noted Galina Saprykina, expressing the opinion of the team of artists.
