Release date: 26.11.2024

As part of the cooperation agreement between the universities, a group of students from the College of Design of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov visited the St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A.L. Stieglitz. This is one of the oldest Russian higher education institutions in the field of art and design.

During the trip, future graphic designers and interior designers visited the workshops of the interior design faculty «Flies».

The university teachers held a master class on watercolor painting for the guests from KBSU, gave a lecture on the history of fonts and conducted a workshop on modular fonts.

Acquaintance with the Stieglitz Academy left not only vivid impressions, but also gave rise to an important conviction: art cannot be created in a vacuum or under a glass dome. It is born in a clash of ideas, in the fight against imperfection, in freedom and chaos. This is what makes creativity real,

— shared Islam Shogenov, a 4th-year student of the KD IASiD KBSU.

The Russian Ethnographic Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Printing Museum, the Hermitage — this is only a small part of the corners of the northern cultural Mecca, where, in addition to the Stieglitz Academy, the student delegation of KBSU managed to visit.

Perhaps the most memorable was a visit to the Hermitage — the main museum of the country, a symbol of Russian culture. Thanks to the assistance of the head of the Hermitage-Caucasus center of KBSU Albert Saralp, leading specialist of the State Hermitage, member of the Union of Artists of Russia Marina Blumin conducted a fascinating two-hour excursion for the children, immersing them in the history of Russia and world art. Together they walked along the majestic grand staircases and looked at the famous works of Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and other great artists. In the Egyptian Hall, the students admired ancient artifacts and mysterious sarcophagi, and also looked into the Throne Room.

St. Petersburg artist Sergey Yushkevich invited the children to his studio and showed them his works. The guests noted the high skill, deep concept and genuine sincerity of the author.

The trip from Nalchik to St. Petersburg became a bright page in the life of the students of the KBSU Design College. They received not only a huge number of impressions, but also valuable experience from leading masters known far beyond the borders of their country.
