Acting rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov, rector of KBSAU named after V.M Kokov — Aslan Apazhev, Rector of the North Caucasus State Institute of Arts Anatoly Rakhaev, Acting Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the KBR Anzor Yezaov.
«I am very glad to communicate with our young people, to hear from you is very important for me, as for the head of the KBR. I specially planned this meeting at the beginning of the year in order to, after talking with you, find out what interests you, what problems you are worried about, in order to make adjustments to our annual plans,» — Kazbek Kokov opened the meeting.
Summing up the results of the past year, he noted that the year was difficult for the whole world, for the country and for the republic. Students and schoolchildren had to switch to a distance learning format, which nevertheless gave a new impetus for the development of education. This is a good tool for learning independently, mastering new competencies. But, of course, nothing can replace live communication, the head of the KBR believes.
Kazbek Kokov expressed his gratitude to the youth for the patience and solidarity they have shown in the fight against the coronavirus. Special thanks went to the members of the volunteer movement, who during this difficult time showed a civic position, helping older people, working in covid hospitals.
«2021 is declared the year of science and technology in Russia. Many of you are active in science. And this is gratifying. Now, without scientific research, a breakthrough in the economy cannot be made. Recently in the government we discussed the forms of stimulating young scientists, these are scholarships, grants. But we will further support their initiatives that are useful for the republic,» — assured Kazbek Valerievich.
The head also recalled that 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic:
For me, as a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, this is an epoch-making date. For exactly a century the peoples of our republic have been living as one strong family. Kabardino-Balkaria has come a worthy path. Our grandfathers and fathers built cities, created the infrastructure that we still use today. It depends on you and me what our small homeland will become next.
Noting the best features inherent in young people of the region: good breeding, creativity, responsiveness, ability to communicate and make friends, Kazbek Kokov expressed his wishes:
So that you continue to develop, generate ideas and believe that life is beautiful. You must be optimistic about the future.
Then the head of the republic answered numerous questions from students, and they related to almost all spheres of life in the region: problems of dilapidated housing, ecology, opening a shelter for animals, creating new jobs, raising the level of education, employment problems, politics, the future of the republic and many others.
The students of KBSU were interested in whether there would be state support for medical volunteers, how to solve the problem of garbage disposal in the republic, whether the head of the KBR would be able to assist in the reconstruction of the university stadium.
For his part, Kazbek Kokov promised to do everything possible to help young people self-actualize, to organize all the necessary infrastructure for this and urged them to also be active so that they become accomplices of those national projects that are being implemented in the republic today.
