KBSU students improve their spoken English skills
The next meeting of the «English Speaking Club» was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU), dedicated to the current topic — «Coffee Subculture». Students from the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance, the Medical Academy and the Institute of Management, Tourism and Hotel Business participated.
The English language lovers were attracted by the topic of coffee as a cultural phenomenon. At the meeting, they discussed how this drink became a symbol of lifestyle for the younger generation. They came to the conclusion that coffee not only satisfies the need for vigor, but also forms social connections, creating a unique atmosphere of communication.
The students noted that coffee beans occupy a confident second place in world trade, second only to oil. Moreover, this drink has become the first symbol of globalization, uniting people from different countries and cultures.
The goal of the event was to develop speaking skills in English, as well as to create a comfortable atmosphere for communication. Under the guidance of teachers from the Department of Foreign Languages at KBSU, the students prepared interesting presentations and reasoned opinions on the topic under discussion. Before the club meeting, the participants conducted interviews in local coffee shops, which added a practical component to their research. At the end of the meeting, the students presented their business plans for the coffee shop, including the brand name, interior design, menu, and advertising strategies.
The meeting of the linguistic club participants became an excellent platform for exchanging opinions and practical application of language knowledge.
