KBSU Student Wins «Career Steps» Project Competition

KBSU College of Design student Dayana Shogenova has won a prize in the «Career Steps» career guidance research project competition. The event, held at North Caucasus Federal University, brought together 9th-11th grade school students and college students with disabilities from across the North Caucasus Federal District. A total of 27 applications were submitted.

The Kabardino-Balkarian Republic was represented by four participants, two of whom won. Dayana Shogenova took second place. She was mentored by KBSU College of Design teacher Fazilya Shkakhova. Anastasia Shaposhnikova, a 9th-grade student at Secondary School No. 27 in the Nalchik district, also took third place (mentored by Inna Dygova).

Lyudmila Nastueva, Head of the Inclusive Education Department at KBSU, served on the expert jury. She evaluated the participants’ projects and shared her professional experience with colleagues from other regions.

Dayana Shogenova is studying Design, Modeling, and Manufacturing Technology for Light Industry Products. Participating in the «Career Steps» competition was an important step in her professional development. She prepared an essay about her future career as a fashion designer, shared the events that influenced her choice of career, and presented her formula for success. In the final round, she successfully defended her presentation to the experts.

«The competition allowed me to better understand the correctness of my chosen path, gain confidence, and increase my motivation. I was particularly impressed by the presentations of the other participants: I saw that perseverance, hard work, love for the work, and the support of loved ones allow one to achieve professional heights, regardless of the circumstances,» the future fashion designer noted.

The student expresses her gratitude to the college administration, teachers, and staff of the KBSU Department of Inclusive Education for the opportunity and support throughout all stages of the competition.
