KBSU student will develop a marketplace for Russian designers after winning the Student Startup competition

We continue to talk about the winners of the “Student Startup” competition of the Ministry of Education and Science, which was held in 2022 as part of the federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”. 2nd year student of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Elnurkhan Geriev won 1 million rubles for the implementation of the project «Marketplace for the sale of clothes of Russian brands.»

The author says about his project: At the moment, a huge number of clothing brands have left the Russian market, followed by large marketplaces such as Asos, Shein and others. It immediately became noticeable how much the Russian market depends on foreign brands and software solutions, so my project is aimed at correcting these problems and supporting domestic clothing brands. The consumers of the marketplace will be people, mostly young people, since most Russian brands specialize in youth clothing. And the partners will be domestic brands and designers. The startup aims to give Russian designers a platform with pleasant conditions for selling their products. Elnurkhan Geriev also spoke about the fact that in his project he takes into account how important an individual approach to brands is, since each of them has its own history and “atmosphere”.

A distinctive feature of the new marketplace will be the creation of an AR avatar, where you can try on clothes online. The project was developed under the scientific supervision of Albert Shapsigov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Director of the IIIIiCT.

«Initially, the project will be on two platforms: Android and website. Then an application for iOS will be created. In the event of a successful launch of the marketplace, I plan to increase the number of partner brands, as well as enter the foreign market.We also plan to create our own clothing brand and open clothing stores in different cities of Russia,” — Elnurkhan Geriev shared his prospects.

We remind you that according to the results of the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «Student Startup 2022», 1000 most significant student projects were selected, of which 4 were developed by KBSU students. Among them are the project “Posture analyze concept” by IS&CHLH student Dana Shortanova, “Creating an ecological map of the area by analyzing samples using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)” by IPM student Alim Nasipov and “Demetra. An intellectual system for diagnosing fetal diseases in the early stages of pregnancy” by student Dinara Mit.

Each of the 1,000 winners will receive 1 million rubles to create their own science-intensive technologies. The implementation of start-ups will contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks of achieving the technological sovereignty of the country.
