KBSU student Tamirlan Kerefov wins the grappling qualifying tournament
Tamirlan Kerefov, a student at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, confirmed his high athletic standing with a convincing victory in the grappling qualifying tournament. The competition took place on January 10 at the Modern Pentathlon Arena in Nalchik. This success paved the way for him to compete in the European Championships, where he will represent the Russian national team.
Tamirlan Kerefov is well known in the world of martial arts. This talented athlete, who studies at the Institute of Law, Economics, and Finance at KBSU, has repeatedly proven his mastery in various disciplines, including kuresh and mixed martial arts (MMA). He is a European champion and a BRICS Games winner in belt wrestling. He also won a silver medal at the World Championships held in Astana, demonstrating a high level of training.
It’s worth noting that Tamirlan Kerefov successfully combines his martial arts career with his passion for football. He actively competes for the team of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov in the student league (NSFL), as well as in the amateur football league of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
His immediate plans include participating in the Kabardino-Balkarian Mixed Martial Arts Championship, which will be held in the republic’s capital on January 31.
