KBSU student – silver medalist of the III All-Russian Student Games

Student at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov Alibek Mambetov performed well at the open III All-Russian student games, taking second place in the sumo tournament.

The games took place on October 6–7, 2023 at the Polytechnic sports complex of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. More than 500 student-athletes from 40 regions of the country took part in them. Competitions were held in 12 national and non-Olympic sports.

Having won three victories in the weight category up to 77 kg, our athlete confidently reached the finals, where in the last series of fights he lost to Ruslan Altyev, representing the university of St. Petersburg, and eventually took the second step of the podium.

Alibek Mambetov’s coach is Rustam Begidov.
