KBSU student — in the final of the prestigious competition of the Russian Geographical Society
Inar Inarokov, a student of the Institute of Management, Tourism and Hospitality Industry of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU), became a finalist of the competition of personal scholarships of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) 2025. This prize is awarded to young public figures implementing projects in the field of geography, ecology, tourism and local history.
Inar is a 4th-year student in the field of «Tourism», and is also an employee of the Youth Center of the KBR, the head of the Youth Tourist Center «Vershina» and deputy head of the youth club of the RGS «Mountain People». He passed the selection in the nomination «Best Travel Organizer» and will now compete for a scholarship of 200,000 rubles.
Inar presented a project for the development of youth tourism, which he has been implementing in Kabardino-Balkaria for the second year. It is called “More than the KBR trails” and includes hikes along the natural attractions of the republic. The routes are of varying difficulty: from easy day walks to complex multi-day routes with tents in the mountains.
“We don’t just take people to the mountains,” says Inar. “We are forming a community of people who are in love with our republic. Kabardino-Balkaria is beautiful, and it is impossible to explore it completely. It never ceases to amaze and reveal new picturesque places to us.”
The final of the personal scholarship competition will be held on September 6 as part of the Youth Gathering of the Russian Geographical Society in the Altai Republic. Inar is preparing to present his project and hopes to win, emphasizing that this victory will be the merit of the entire team, all those who put their efforts into the development of tourism in Kabardino-Balkaria.
We wish Inar good luck in the final!
