KBSU student – champion of Russia in powerlifting for people with muscular impairment

Student at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Education and Sports Education, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov Sultan Kugotov became the champion of Russia at the championship in powerlifting, a sport for people with musculoskeletal disorders.

Sultan Kugotov is the head coach of the KBR team and at the same time an active athlete. He took gold in the weight category up to 72 kg, pressing 174 kg, and also took first place in the category up to 72 kg in the sum of three approaches and thereby fulfilled the standard of a master of sports of Russia.

The national team of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic was represented by athletes from the State Institution of the KBR “Sports-Adaptive School” of the Ministry of Sports of the KBR.

In total, our athletes won 7 medals, of which 3 were the highest and 4 were silver medals.

The Russian Championship in powerlifting for people with musculoskeletal disorders was held on March 4–10, 2024 in Yekaterinburg. More than 167 athletes from 39 regions of the country took part in the competition.
