KBSU student Aryai Ehsanullah became the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic MMA champion for the third time
Aryai Ehsanullah, a student at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU), won gold at the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship. The competition took place on January 31 at the Nalchik Sports Complex and brought together over 250 athletes from across the republic.
The tournament served as a qualifying round for the North Caucasus Federal District Championship, which will be held in March 2026 in Ingushetia. Following his performance, Aryai took the top step of the podium and was named to the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic team for the district competition.
Aryai Ehsanullah is a third-year student at the Institute of Law, Economics, and Finance at KBSU, originally from Kabul, Afghanistan. He arrived in Kabardino-Balkaria in 2022 and has been actively pursuing his athletic career in Russia ever since. Just three months after moving, he won the regional youth championship, and a year later, the adult championship. Aryai has now confirmed his title as the KBR champion for the third year in a row. He is currently continuing to improve under the guidance of coach Amir Gerandokov.
