KBSU Strengthens Ties with Tajikistan
The Department of Pre-University Training and Career Guidance of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU) continues to expand international cooperation. The university delegation visited the Republic of Tajikistan to present the educational opportunities of the university and strengthen partnerships.
The central event of the visit was the signing of a five-year cooperation agreement between KBSU and the state institution «Center for International Programs» of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan. The document laid the foundation for joint projects in the field of academic exchange and scientific research.
In addition, KBSU representatives held talks with the leadership of the leading universities of the republic — the Tajik National University and the Russian-Tajik Slavic University. At meetings with the vice-rectors for international relations, the prospects for cooperation and internships were discussed.
An important part of the trip was a series of events for applicants. The university staff organized presentations at the Russian House in Dushanbe and the Sughd region with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, and also held consultations at the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan. High school students and graduates received detailed information about the areas of training, admission conditions and student life at KBSU, and those who wished took a test on their knowledge of the Russian language.
We strive to make our university attractive to talented youth not only from Russia, but also from other countries. I am sure that this trip will open up new opportunities for hundreds of applicants,
— noted Albina Vindizheva, Head of the Department for Pre-University Training and Career Guidance Work at KBSU.
Today, more than 2,400 foreigners from 50 countries study at KBSU, which is 12.5% of the total number of students at the state university.
