KBSU starts «University shifts — 2023»
600 school children from Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions go to the summer «University shifts» to the Elbrus educational and scientific complex of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov in the Elbrus region. 4 shifts of 10 days of cultural leisure, adaptation practices and psychological rehabilitation are organized for the children by the best tutors of the university.
In 2022, KBSU became a participant in the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Russian Movement of Children and Youth «University shifts», aimed at personal development, self-determination, socialization and career guidance of students in educational organizations of new regions of the Russian Federation, and since then the number of applicants useful to rest on the basis of KBSU doubled.
The project first of all opens up new unique opportunities for children from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to realize their potential, increase knowledge and develop talents. During the summer period, children from the new constituent entities of the Russian Federation, on the basis of the country’s leading universities, are actively immersed in the history of our Motherland, become familiar with its culture and traditions, imbued with the student atmosphere and acquire competencies that will help them in choosing their future profession,

KBSU is one of 50 universities subordinated to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science that host children aged 14 to 17. As Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said, this year it is planned to involve in the project not only children from new regions, but also children of participants in a special military operation, combat veterans and Heroes of Russia, as well as demobilized students from new regions of the Russian Federation.
As part of the implementation of the project «University shifts» on the basis of the Elbrus educational and scientific complex of the KBSU, four streams will be held from July 28 to August 6, 2023, from August 9 to 18, 2023, from August 21 to 30, 2023, from August 3 to 12 September 2023.
The Department for Youth Policy and Educational Work of the KBSU has prepared a large-scale program for the children in the educational, cultural, patriotic, over-professional, sports, excursion, and leisure main modules of the project.
The participants of the shifts will be able to get acquainted with the culture and customs of the peoples of Kabardino-Balkaria, with the history, traditions and achievements of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University, as well as with all the profiles of the university, attend informative lectures, master classes, excursions to the sights of the Elbrus National Park, etc.
The first group — 130 high school students from the Zaporozhye region — will arrive at the KBSU base tomorrow, August 28.
