KBSU Staff Participate in Rectors’ School: Fourth Module Launches
Staff from the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov are participating in the fourth in-person module of the professional retraining program «Rectors’ School 25: Managing University Transformation.» The educational intensive course is taking place from February 16 to 20 on the campus of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management.
The topic of the new stage is «Developing University Transformation Projects: Transition from Modeling to Organizational Design.» Participants will focus on analyzing real-life transformation cases at Russian universities. The module examines in detail the experiences of the Yaroslavl State Technical University, Ural Federal University, and Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics. Studying successful practices allows the KBSU team to benchmark their own project solutions against industry best practices.
As in previous stages, project work plays a central role in the program. The KBSU team continues to develop the strategic project «Human Capital Development as the Foundation for the University’s Strategic Transformation.» The delegation includes Elena Mashukova, Director of the Institute of Law, Economics, and Finance; Muslim Tamazov, Director of the Social and Humanitarian Institute; Timur Dyshekov, Head of the Personnel Development Department; and Rasul Kodzokov, Deputy Head of the Strategic Programs and Projects Department.
According to Rasul Kodzokov, participation in the program allows the university to align its development vector with the current agenda:
«It is here, in project groups, that real mechanisms are born that allow us to connect our objectives with the larger strategy. We are talking about the transition to the ‘University 3.0′ model – through the commercialization of knowledge, the development of an external ecosystem, and, most importantly, through building a functioning dialogue with government and business.»
The fourth module marks the transition from conceptual modeling to the design of specific changes for the KBSU team. As Elena Mashukova, Director of the Institute of Law, Economics, and Finance, notes, the project under development is focused on finding solutions that can fundamentally change the university’s role in the region:
«Our primary focus is human capital development. This is precisely what we are embedding in our transformation model: from a classical university to a multidisciplinary one with elements of entrepreneurship. We propose achieving this through an end-to-end project logic, ecosystem development, and updated HR policies. Ultimately, our project solutions should help the university stay ahead of the curve, responding to the development needs of the region where it operates.»
As a reminder, the «Rectors’ School 25» program is designed for seven months and includes six in-person modules. The KBSU team has already completed stages dedicated to analyzing external challenges, diagnosing management problems, and target modeling. The training will culminate in the development of a comprehensive transformation program aimed at strengthening KBSU’s position in the region’s educational, scientific, and technological agenda.
