KBSU Participated in an Educational Campaign by the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov hosted the campaign «Prevention Today – Health Tomorrow. The Importance of Vaccination and Medical Screening,» initiated by the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health. The event brought together the university’s faculty to discuss current health and disease prevention issues.
Kabardino-Balkarian Minister of Health Rustam Kalibatov, in his report, detailed the importance of vaccination in preventing infectious diseases, backing up his points with statistical data on the effectiveness of immunoprophylaxis. He also presented informational materials on cancer screenings, which facilitate the early detection of malignant tumors.
«Our key task today is to create a culture of regular medical screening,» emphasized Rustam Kalibatov. «I am confident that our collaboration with the university will enable us to make significant progress in three areas: raising awareness about the need for vaccinations and preventive examinations, as well as first aid training. We count on your support.»
Acting Rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov confirmed that the university plays an important role in disseminating verified data on health issues.
«Prevention is not an abstract concept, but a genuine concern for everyone,» noted Yuri Kambulatovich, addressing the university staff. «In today’s information flow, reliable, evidence-based knowledge is especially valuable. I am confident that today’s information will resonate, and you will be able to convey it to a wider audience.»
As part of the campaign, the documentaries «Vaccination: Life or Death» and «Medical Examination and Cancer Screening – the Path to a Healthy and Long Life,» produced by the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health, were screened. The films clearly demonstrate the goals and benefits of preventive measures and feature real patient stories.
Madina Shogenova, Chief Immunologist-Allergist at the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health and Chief Physician of the Center for Allergology and Immunology, also addressed the audience. She discussed vaccinations for at-risk groups. Medina Petrova, Head of the Epidemiology Department at the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, presented data on the epidemiological situation in the region and the effectiveness of preventive measures.
Such events are part of the systematic work of KBSU and the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health to foster a responsible attitude toward health and improve public health literacy.
