A commemorative medal to the medical college of the KBSU «For a disinterested contribution to the organization of the All-Russian action of mutual assistance #WeTogether» and a letter signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin were presented to representatives of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov during the All-Russian Forum of Medical Volunteers, held from August 7 to 10, 2022 at VDNKh (Moscow).
In 2021, as part of the campaign held in the context of the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19 pandemic), a similar diploma was awarded to the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. Commemorative medals were awarded to the director of the KBSU Medical College Svetlana Pshibieva and the college teacher Irina Kumekhova, who personally supervised the interaction of medical volunteers through regional social services, medical organizations and sponsors, which contributed to the fruitful work of the volunteer headquarters. In August 2022, at the All-Russian Forum of Medical Volunteers, in which 300 people took part in a face-to-face format (more than 2.5 thousand medical volunteers joined the opening of the event online), Kabardino-Balkarian State University was represented by an employee of the medical college, the regional head of the All-Russian movement «Medical Volunteers» Zalina Kushkhova, students of the medical faculty of the KBSU Isabella Zhukova and Temirlan Beytuganov.
The organizers and partners of the forum are the All-Russian public movement «Medical Volunteers», the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Historical Park «Russia — My History», Moscow. During the opening of the event, the speakers emphasized the importance of the activities of medical volunteers in the development of medical volunteering, their work in socially significant projects and competitions. Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko noted: “Medical volunteers have a huge amount of experience in medical volunteering. Despite the young age of the organization, you covered more than 24 million people with preventive measures, you provided medical care in hospitals for millions of hours, more than 35,000 medical volunteers helped doctors during the pandemic: they delivered food and medicine to patients, they were on duty at the hotline. Thank you so much for your initiatives that help save lives and educate the population in good habits.” As part of the event, experts and guests of the forum discussed the effectiveness of the development of regional branches, the formation of a unified communication environment and building partnerships. Educational platforms were devoted to the development of medical volunteering in Russia, the formation and improvement of the personal skills of volunteers, the creation of an institution for mentoring medical volunteers, communication and interaction between the regional branches of the movement. Zalina Kushkhova, an employee of the KBSU Medical College, shared her impressions and expectations from the forum. “Medical volunteers are a team that you can never doubt. I am immensely happy that I am part of this huge, close-knit family. Today’s forum is a great opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from different regions, make new acquaintances, and also determine the vectors for the development of the movement in the coming years. Thanks to everyone who creates the history of our team,” said Zalina Arturovna. The All-Russian public movement «Medic Volunteers» is one of the largest volunteer organizations in the field of healthcare in Europe. With the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, 85 regional branches of the Volunteer Medical Association have been opened in Russia, uniting more than 118,000 people. About 4 million Russians receive help and support from medical volunteers every year.
