KBSU made a proposal for the development of the northern territories

On September 24, 2020, the All-Russian Forum «Sustainable Development of Northern Territories» was held in St. Petersburg, in which the vice-rector for research work of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, Dr. sciences, professor of KBSU Khashirova.

The forum, launched in 2019 and held in a number of federal districts of the Russian Federation, is dedicated to the implementation of national projects in the constituent entities of Russia, taking into account regional opportunities and public initiatives.

Recall that the venue for the I North Caucasian Forum on Sustainable Development in 2019 was the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov.

The forum discussed issues of «Ecology and development of the North», «Territorial planning and spatial development of the country», «Sustainable development of rural areas», «National development goals and prospects for international integration.»

At the environmental section of the forum, the regions shared their experience in solving environmental problems. KBSU presented at the forum developments in the field of effective technologies for complex waste processing, which are in demand not only in our region, but throughout the country and the world.

In her speech at the Forum, the vice-rector of KBSU Svetlana Khashirova noted that environmental projects have the highest prospects of turning from a point of expenditure into a driver of economic growth in the region. Thus, studies carried out at the Department of Sustainable Development of KBSU have shown that the introduction of new technologies for the preservation and restoration of the environment can increase the viability of communities by 2 times and increase the well-being of the population by 3 times.

Advanced approaches to solving environmental problems proposed by KBSU will be included in the final resolution of the Forum on Sustainable Development.
