KBSU Launches Social Service for Young Parents

Release date: 27.01.2026

A mother-and-child room, along with a short-stay group for students and staff, will open in the Pedagogical College building of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

The new service is designed for young parents—KBSU students and staff—with children aged 1 to 7. Now, while parents are in class or at work, their child can be cared for in a safe and friendly environment by experienced teachers. A visit can last up to four hours a day, and the group can accommodate up to 15 children at a time. This is a convenient solution for young parents who want to be close to their child without interrupting their studies or work.

Madina Ponezheva, a specialist at the KBSU Coordination Center and mother of six-year-old Emirkhan, was one of the first to use the service:

«For me, as a working mother, the opening of a mother-and-child room at the university is a great support.» I used to worry about what to do if I suddenly had no one to leave my son with. Now I can rest easy knowing he’s safe, close to me, and I can work without worry. I’m very grateful to the KBSU leadership for this initiative—it truly makes life easier for young parents, allowing them to harmoniously combine careers, studies, and childcare.»

To use the service from day one, you must submit an application to the Center for Scholarship Programs and Financial Support for Students (3rd floor of the Pedagogical College) by February 1, 2026.

When applying, please bring the following documents:

— passport;

— SNILS;

— TIN;

— child’s birth certificate.

Detailed information on the rules and conditions of stay is set out in the official Regulation «On the Short-Term Stay Group for Children and the Mother-and-Child Room for Student Families.»

This project is being implemented as part of the state policy to support student families and develop accessible social infrastructure in the higher education system. KBSU creates conditions that help young parents study, confidently build careers, and raise children.
