KBSU is in the list of the best universities in the world
According to the results of the Moscow international ranking of universities «Three missions of the university» in 2024, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov entered the interval group 1751-2000 in the world ranking and the interval group 114-152 among Russian universities.
The positions of Russian universities in the international educational market were discussed at a press conference in TASS dedicated to the presentation of the VIII issue of the Moscow international ranking of higher educational institutions «Three missions of the university» by the president of the Union of Rectors of the country, rector of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Viktor Sadovnichy and the General Director of the Association of Rating Compilers Dmitry Grishankov.
«Three missions of the university» is an academic ranking that for the first time evaluates all three key missions of a university: education, science and interaction with society. It has been published since 2017 to assess the quality of education. Analysts examine 80 objective criteria approved by international experts. The formation of the rating was initiated by the Russian Rectors’ Union in accordance with the instructions of the President of Russia V.V. Putin.
The eighth annual ranking «Three University Missions» in 2024 included 2,000 universities from 112 countries. Russia retained its position in the top three world leaders in terms of representation in the ranking (152 universities), second only to the United States and China (257 and 237 universities, respectively). Among Russian universities, the highest position was taken by Lomonosov Moscow State University, which retained 17th place in the final ranking, followed by St. Petersburg State University (49th place) and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (54th place).
Russia is represented in the «Three University Missions» ranking by 152 universities — this is two universities less than last year. In total, the list of the best educational institutions from more than half of the subjects of Russia — 45 regions. The largest number of strong Russian universities are concentrated in Moscow — 39 universities, followed by St. Petersburg (15 universities), Tatarstan (six universities), Tomsk and Tyumen regions (five universities each). Four universities represent Moscow, Novosibirsk, Rostov and Samara regions. Two universities represent the North Caucasus Federal District. The positions of most leading Russian universities in the 2024 ranking have decreased.
KBSU managed to maintain its position in the ranking and represents the North Caucasus Federal District together with the North Caucasus Federal University.
