KBSU is among the leading universities in the natural sciences and engineering
The RAEX rating agency, with the support of the Russian Union of Rectors and the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation, has compiled lists of the best Russian universities in the natural sciences and engineering. Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov took 46th place in the list of the best universities in Russia in the natural and mathematical field and 66th in the engineering and technical field.
Agency experts note that three factors affect the ranking of universities — the demand for graduates in the labor market, the quality of education and the results of scientific activity.
“The new ratings include Russian universities that are the best training for techies,” comments Dmitry Grishankov, General Director of the RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytica). — The published lists will undoubtedly be of interest to employers who are in need of updating the staff in these areas. In addition, the ratings should become an important help for applicants with advanced mathematical abilities and engineering inclinations. »
“The lack of high-quality engineering and technical personnel is a long-standing problem in the development of the real sector of the Russian economy,” the rating agency said in the statement of the opinion of Alexander Cherednik, executive director of the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation. “In this regard, employers are interested in the emergence of authoritative ratings that allow identifying the best training practices for“ techies ”. It is gratifying that the published rankings include universities from all federal districts of the country, and this is important from the point of view of human capital development in the regions of Russia. »
There is a fairly wide geographical diversity in the ratings: representatives of 32 regions of Russia are among the best. The most common universities are Moscow — in the ranking in the natural and mathematical direction there are about a third of them (30%), in the ranking in the engineering and technical direction — over a quarter (26%).
The second place in terms of the share of participants belongs to St. Petersburg — 12% and 11%, respectively.
Regional universities are more widely represented in the engineering and technical rating than in the natural and mathematical (63% versus 58%, respectively).
In preparing the rating, data from a questionnaire survey of universities, surveys of representatives of the academic and scientific communities, employers, students and graduates of universities, as well as information from open sources were used.

More than 700 universities operate in the Russian Federation, incl. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is subordinate to 252 universities.
