KBSU hosts «University Shifts — 2024»

Release date: 26.08.2024

Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, as part of the «University Shifts», hosted another group of schoolchildren from different parts of the country, including 45 high school students from Mariupol, Torez and Gorlovka.

Children from the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions undergo psychological rehabilitation and, together with their peers, participate in a career guidance program: attend lectures, communicate with experts.

Head of the Department for Pre-University Training and Career Guidance Work Albina Vindizheva gives lectures where she talks about the opportunities that are open to students of KBSU.

At such meetings, children learn about areas of training, grant support and scholarship provision for students, the research potential of the university, as well as new rules for admission to the university and ways to improve scores on the Unified State Exam.

Everyone can improve their Unified State Exam score with the help of so-called «individual achievements». Additional points upon admission are awarded for volunteer activities, the GTO badge and, of course, for winning various Olympiads. Our university rewards students who have been admitted with a high score (80 and above) — they will be awarded 10 thousand rubles per month during the semester. KBSU has also prepared gifts for those who have scored 100 points. This year, 9 people in the lists of enrolled students scored the maximum Unified State Exam score, they will receive a one-time payment of 100 thousand rubles. The same reward awaits the winners of the All-Russian School Olympiad — we have two of them, for the first time in the history of the university,

— noted Albina Vindizheva.

The students themselves help the children decide on their future specialty. They motivate schoolchildren by personal example and are willing to talk about their experience of studying at KBSU.

The University Shifts not only gave me the opportunity to get to know KBSU, but also became decisive in choosing a university and faculty — I will enroll in Kabardino-Balkarian State University. I want to get an education in journalism,

— says Olesya Kotova from Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Krai).

I am still in the ninth grade and have not yet decided where to enroll. But thanks to the University Shifts, I learned a lot of useful information for an applicant. I met interesting people, I made new friends. The time spent in Kabardino-Balkaria will forever remain in my heart!

— emphasizes Elizaveta Kolotchenko from Gorlovka (DPR)

Elizaveta Kolotchenko is participating in the University Shifts of KBSU for the second year in a row. This time, in addition to unforgettable impressions, the girl will take with her a keychain with the logo of our university. She made the souvenir with her own hands at a master class where they teach wood burning.

This is just one of the alternative sites. During their stay in Elbrus, schoolchildren participate in quests, sports competitions, learn target shooting, and prove themselves in a talent competition. They also get acquainted with the natural attractions of our region.

We went on a hike to the “Sand Castles”. We walked up the mountain for about two hours, climbed to a height of 3,240 meters to the northern foot of Elbrus. It was very difficult, but we got there thanks to our curators and the Emergencies Ministry rescuers who accompanied us. We saw indescribably beautiful mountain views. I will remember this for the rest of my life,

— Alisa Popova from the village of Samarskoye (Rostov Region) shares her impressions

I have never seen a mountain. I came to Kabardino-Balkaria for the first time. You have such beautiful nature! Such majestic peaks are a real place of power,

— Yaroslav Slepnev from Pavlovsky Posad (Moscow region) says with admiration

The guys will stay in Elbrus region until August 25. Now they are preparing creative numbers for the farewell evening.

After seeing off this group, the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of KBSU will wait for new guests, because 4 more trips are planned.

“University shifts” will last until October 19.
