KBSU hosted the INFO-2023 Olympiad
On December 23, 2023, more than 200 students in grades 5–11 from schools in the republic and about 30 junior students took part in the Olympiad in Informatics and Information Protection “INFO-2023”, held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.
The organizer of the intellectual competition of young IT specialists is traditionally the Department of Computer Technologies and Information Security of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies of the university.
Head Tatyana Khashirova, Chair of CT and Information Security at IIIICT, welcoming the participants, said:
“You will have to demonstrate your skills and talent in the world of information technology. Today you will find interesting tasks and tests that will allow you to determine the best of the best in the field of computer science. Good luck, inspiration and victories!”
The director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies Albert Shapsigov, the head of the department for pre-university preparation and career guidance at KBSU Albina Vindizheva, and the head of the center for supporting technology and innovation Maryana Marzhokhova also addressed good wishes to students and schoolchildren.
Giving the go-ahead to the Olympiad, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Technology Albert Shapsigov advised the participants:
“You are faced with important tasks that will require from you not only knowledge and skills, but also ingenuity, creativity and the ability to make quick decisions. Be attentive, careful and responsible, and then you will be able to achieve high results. Good luck to you and success in solving all your problems!”
Albina Vindizheva told potential applicants about the history of KBSU, areas of training and opportunities provided to active students.
Maryana Marzhokhova told the schoolchildren that the International Children’s Competition “School Patent — a Step into the Future” had started at KBSU in the Kabardino-Balkaria, and invited them to become its participants.
“The goal of the project is to form a systematic approach to the search, targeted support and development of scientific and technical creativity and innovative activity of schoolchildren by creating an ecosystem and selection infrastructure, supporting promising scientific and technical developments and ensuring rights to the results of intellectual activity of schoolchildren,”
– explained the head of the Center for Technical and Intellectual Science of KBSU.
Then the guys went to the classrooms to complete the tasks of the Olympiad.
The results of the Olympiad will be posted on the KBSU website in January 2024.
