KBSU hosted an English language Olympiad in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory

The annual university-wide English language Olympiad dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. This intellectual competition brought together about 150 participants who demonstrated their knowledge and skills in English.

In the first written round, students worked with texts dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. They not only demonstrated their level of English, but were also imbued with a sense of pride and respect for those who gave their lives for the peaceful skies above us.

18 people advanced to the second oral round. Participants presented translations of materials about the exploits and heroism of KBSU teachers and students. They also had to demonstrate their oratory skills by reading a poem about the war in English. The students demonstrated excellent results in working with texts and confident oral speech.

The winners of the Olympiad were:

1) Azikov Amin Zaurovich, 2nd year «Construction»;

2) Evloeva Khava Khasanovna, 1st year «Construction»;

3) Makoev Idar Anzorovich, 2nd year «Applied Informatics»;

4) Beshtoev Inal Beslanovich, 1st year «Construction».

Following the results of the Olympiad, the winners and prize-winners were awarded certificates and gifts, which has become a good tradition for the organizers — employees of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the Social and Humanitarian Institute of KBSU. This event not only contributed to the development of students’ language skills, but also helped strengthen the connection between generations, reminding us of the importance of memory and respect for history.
