Bashir Hubiev devoted his report to studying the essence and content of social theories of aging in the context of updating and increasing the potential of older people in the course of interaction with society.
The emphasis is on substantiating the need for a knowledge system arising from the analysis of the theory of aging and revealing the phenomenon of the older generation from the perspective of the past and present, which is very significant in the practice of increasing resource potential in the context of interaction between society and the older generation.
For the effective organization of work with the elderly, it is necessary to know not only their social status in the past and present, material and spiritual needs. Based on the methodology of social theories of aging, a resource-potential approach should be used in the practice of assessing the socio-cultural infrastructure of the older generation,
— Bashir Hubiev summed up.
Albina Vindizheva spoke about the peculiarities of organizing social work with convicts serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, paying close attention to the possibility of solving issues that are important for shaping the prospects for the development of social work in the penitentiary system of the republic.
Improving the efficiency of the process of correction of convicts in general and reducing the facts of re-commission of crimes by persons who have previously served a sentence of deprivation of liberty will be facilitated by the implementation of such measures as expanding the staff of employees with theoretical and practical skills, providing convicts with the opportunity to interact more with different institutions, for to learn to solve their problems on their own; organization of departments for socio-psychological rehabilitation for convicts who, during the period of serving their sentence, will periodically undergo rehabilitation measures in order to normalize their behavior (life) in a correctional institution; creation of structures (laboratories, sectors, departments, units) in correctional institutions to assist convicts in undergoing resocialization programs, the activities of which can be organized on the principle of work of medical and sanitary units. This will not only strengthen social prevention, but will also contribute to the restoration of socially approved life of convicts after a serious social breakdown (committing a crime) and serving a criminal sentence. Along with other specialists, social workers should also take part in this,
— Albina Vindizheva believes.
The scientific program of the conference included a plenary session, eight thematic sections and a poster session. Conference participants will receive certificates. Conference materials will be published in the collection and placed in the RSCI.
