KBSU employees took part in a webinar of the World Intellectual Property Organization
Over 20 employees of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov took part in a free regional webinar of the World Intellectual Property Organization for a group of countries in Central Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe “PCT System. Demonstration of electronic filing of an international application through the ePCT portal”, which took place on March 14, 2024.
As the head of the Center for Support of Technologies and Innovations of KBSU, Maryana Marzhokhova, recalled:
“KBSU is part of the national network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TSIS), which is part of the Russian innovation ecosystem created to provide services, information and establish cooperation in the field of intellectual property (IP).”
The WIPO webinar was designed for Russian-speaking applicants, patent attorneys, IP department employees and inventors, as well as university students who are related to intellectual property.
Pavel Spitsyn, Director of the Representative Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization in the Russian Federation, addressed the webinar participants with a welcoming speech, noting that the World Intellectual Property Organization is trying to respond to market demands and increase awareness of the field of intellectual property throughout the world.
During the webinar, the digital capabilities of the ePCT portal were demonstrated, how you can prepare and submit an international application, the advantages of such filing, patent benefits, how to sign a statement when filing an application, in which languages you can correspond and much more.
Listeners will receive a certificate of participation in the webinar.
“Our TISC plans to organize training for university staff in the field of intellectual property from the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Training is provided in seven languages, including Russian remotely,”
– explained Maryana Marzhokhova.
