KBSU congratulates German Pashtov

Today, on November 9, the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, laureate of the State Prize of the KBR, Honored Artist of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, creator and head of the Creative Workshop at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov to German Pashtov.

Graduate of the Rostov Art School named after M.B. Grekov, Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute. Ivan Fedorov, the Creative Graphic Workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk, a recognized master of printed graphics and xylography (the activities of his school of xylography in Krasnoyarsk are widely known not only in Russia, but also abroad), German Pashtov is also engaged in teaching.

So, in February 2018, the Creative Workshop of Herman Pashtov was opened at KBSU on the basis of the College of Design. Its goal is to preserve and develop artistic traditions, creative, scientific, research schools, trends, creative laboratories, experimental workshops, temporary creative teams and groups; development of talent, professional development, individual abilities of students and youth, corresponding to the level of higher education; training of specialists, masters capable of independent professional creative activity at a high artistic level.

The All-Russian Graphic Symposium «The Pearl of Russia — Elbrus» and the International Symposium on Painting led by Professor German Pashtov, held traditionally on the basis of the EUNK KBSU, brought together hundreds of leading masters of fine arts from different regions of Russia, students of KBSU, students of art schools. German Pashtov is the author of numerous paintings, graphic series, including «Kabardian suite», «When there is peace on earth», «People-Birds», «Venetian series», «Stop the black horse», illustrations for the works of Kh. K. Beshtokov «On the Yenisei», to the Caucasian poems of Lermontov, selected works of A. Pushkin, etc.

The master’s works are presented in the largest Russian museums, foreign collections. His personal exhibitions were held in many cities of Russia and abroad: in Krasnoyarsk, Norilsk, Moscow, Nalchik, Beijing, Harbin — and enjoyed constant audience success. Pashtov’s woodcuts were awarded medals and diplomas of the Russian Academy of Arts, awards at international exhibitions. The staff of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov headed by acting Rector Yuri Altudov congratulates People’s Artist of the Russian Federation German Pashtov on his birthday and wishes him good health, good spirits, creative inspiration and the birth of new masterpieces.
