KBSU congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Maxim Ozhered on his 105th birthday!

On August 8, 2024, the participant of the Great Patriotic War, member of the Council of Veterans of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov Maxim Alekseevich Ozhered turned 105 years old.

On behalf of the management and the entire staff of KBSU, the honorary jubilee was congratulated on such a significant date by the first vice-rector of the university Murat Gukepshkov, the chairman of the Council of Veterans of the university Khasan Shurdumov, the director and staff of the College of Information Technology and Economics of the university.

«Thank you, our dear hero, for the victory over Nazi Germany, for defending peace in the name of the future of our great country. Maxim Alekseevich, you are the pride of our team! A true example of courage and honor for our youth. We wish you health and good spirits,” Hasan Shurdumov greeted the veteran.

Handing over gifts and flowers to the venerable birthday boy, the university representatives expressed words of gratitude to Maxim Alekseevich for his courage, loyalty to the Motherland and duty.

For his part, Maxim Ozhered thanked the guests from KBSU for their attention and support.

The veteran’s daughter Lyudmila said that, despite his age, he continues to be keenly interested in events in the country and the world, loves to watch TV and read newspapers. Maxim Ozhered has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson.

It should be noted that Maxim Ozhered’s combat path began in Moldova, in the coastal artillery battery of the Danube Flotilla, subsequently defended Odessa, Sevastopol, was wounded, fought in the Rostov region, liberated Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia.

For courage and heroism, M. Ozhered was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, three medals «For Courage», «For Victory over Germany» and others.

After the war, he worked as the head of a meteorological station in Georgia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Astrakhan, and from 1959 to 1974, he headed the hydrometeorological bureau in Kabardino-Balkaria.
