The team of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov took part in the educational media forum «United Caucasus», held in Nalchik. The forum became a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of best practices and advanced training in the field of youth media in the North Caucasus.

Over the course of three days, 40 young media leaders from all subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, mastered an intensive educational program. Leading experts in the media sphere shared their knowledge with the participants.

«It is important for us to talk about the possibilities of national projects in an understandable language so that everyone knows about the successes and achievements, about the measures and support that are available now and will be created in the near future,» said Nadezhda Efremova, head of the project office of the ANO «National Priorities», one of the priority tasks of the forum.

Artem Pavlenko, Head of the Department for Work in the North Caucasus Federal District of the ANO Dialogue Regions, emphasized efficiency in crisis situations and media literacy.

«The hosts of information channels need to be able to quickly respond to emergency situations and challenges, issue official messages faster than rumors begin to spread through chats. It is also necessary to teach young people media literacy so that young people do not lose their vigilance, understand that their opinions can be manipulated and check information.»

The program included interactive master classes, strategic sessions and practical classes on content creation. The culmination of the work was the development of joint media projects.

«We were able to exchange ideas and views, which made the process even more exciting and productive. I was especially interested in topics related to artificial intelligence. I got the opportunity to better understand how modern technologies can be integrated into the educational process and media activities, got acquainted with existing successful practices, media strategies and educational approaches of universities from other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District,” said Sanyat Metova, a correspondent for the Information Policy Department of KBSU, about her stay at the forum.

An important part of the forum were the visiting sessions: at the RIC TASS Kavkaz, the participants got acquainted with the work of a professional studio, mastered the technique of recording live broadcasts, and at the Mashuk Knowledge Center, they received advice on creating content from the head of the press center.

The Minister of Youth Affairs of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Azamat Lyuev assessed the importance of the United Caucasus:

“Such events achieve several important goals: they form a professional media community, develop skills in creating high-quality content, strengthen interregional cooperation and promote a positive youth agenda.”

Following the forum, the participants decided to create a network media community of the North Caucasus Federal District and implement joint projects.
