Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov applied for participation in the state program «Priority 2030».

Acting Rector of KBSU, Acting Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor Svetlana Khashirova:

“Implementation of the development strategy of KBSU in 2016 — 2020. allowed to significantly increase the potential in the field of education and science, strengthen the role of the university in the socio-economic, technological and innovative development of the region and bring it to a leading position among the universities of the North Caucasus Federal District. KBSU occupies high positions in national ratings, is in the top 100 of the national rating of Interfax universities.
The model of the “university of the future” is determined by the new challenges facing our country, Russian higher education, the region and KBSU in particular, and corresponds to the ambitious plans for the advanced development of Kabardino-Balkaria. Success is based on the effective use of the unique features, potential and competitive advantages of our republic and KBSU, «reassembly» of the priorities of the university, ensuring synchronization with the development of the region.

Achieving such ambitious goals is possible through inclusion in the Priority 2030 program. Our university, meeting all the criteria for entering the program, applied for a special part of the «territorial leadership» grant.

In the development model, the university plans to strengthen its role in the implementation of national projects and relies on the goals of state policy in relation to the priority geostrategic territory of the North Caucasus. We focus on strengthening the role of KBSU as a system integrator of sustainable socio-economic development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the macroregion.

The development program of KBSU for the next decade covers the solution of the most modern, breakthrough problems.

The development strategy of KBSU until 2030 includes 5 strategic projects that will be implemented in a consortium with regional authorities, leading universities and research institutes of the country, and foreign research and production concerns.

Strategic projects are dedicated to the creation of low-tonnage production of new generation materials for additive technologies; the development of the republic’s health resort complex, the development of the Hermitage-Caucasus cultural and educational center created at the KBSU, whose activities will contribute to the formation of a cultural center of attraction for tourists, the development of new highly demanded educational programs. For example, the program for the participation of KBSU students in the archaeological expedition of the State Hermitage, which has been implemented over the course of several years, will be developed, new areas of training related to the restoration of cultural heritage objects will be introduced.

The project to create a regional center for continuing education will train personnel for the new economy, match the pace of development of the labor market, and conduct training in relevant competencies not only for students, but also for children and adults. Already now, the university provides residents of the republic with the opportunity to obtain additional qualifications and find a job. Promotion of employment is one of the goals of the strategic development of the university.

In general, the program of transformation of the university into a new generation university, keeping pace with the region, will significantly improve the performance of the university as an educational, scientific and cultural center, strengthen its role in the development of the region and ensure sustainable growth of the main and developing sectors of the republic’s economy.»
