KBSU and the Nalchik Women’s Council celebrated the International Day of Peace

September 21, on the International Day of Peace, at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov, with the support of the Department of Project Support of the National Technological Initiative and Public Events of KBSU, an action of the public organization “Council of Women Nalchik” “We Remember, We Honor”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Chairman of the Council of Women of Nalchik Lydia Digesheva noted:

«Today’s action is part of a large project «Patriotism takes its origins in the family», the purpose of which is to motivate families to preserve historical memory, the continuity of generations, the formation of patriotism and awareness of the significance of the Victory of our people in the Great Patriotic War».

Gathering at the monument to the KBSU employees who died during the Great Patriotic War, students and the leadership of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education honored the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland. Freshmen recited poems on the military theme, sang songs of the war years. Astemir Ervasov and Milana Khutatova, members of the StiMi group, well-known in KBSU, performed their song Children of War, which became famous thanks to the Russian Student Spring festival.

As part of the action, students of the KBSU Social and Humanitarian Institute, under the leadership of the director of the State Institute of Humanities Muslim Tamazov, will conduct lectures for schoolchildren about the heroism of the Russian people on the topic «Let’s hit on falsifiers of historical facts.»

Remember at what price Victory in the Great Patriotic War was given to our people. This is the result achieved by the entire multinational people. This is a victory for the commanders and soldiers who showed endurance and perseverance, and those who worked in the rear, treated the front-line soldiers, ”Lydia Digesheva turned to the youth. — Every year on September 21, the Secretary-General of the United Nations strikes the Peace Bell, which was made using coins collected by children from 60 countries, as well as various awards — orders and medals. Then the UN Secretary General delivers a speech in which he appeals to the peoples of the entire planet with an appeal to end military conflicts. May today’s strike on the Peace Bell awaken in all people the desire to live in a peaceful environment.
Thanking the Council of Women of Mr. Nalchik for the invitation to participate in the action «We Remember, We Honor», Director of the Institute of Industrial and Social Problems Olga Mikhailenko noted that such events make young people proud for our country and for their grandfathers, who did everything possible to make their grandchildren and great-grandchildren live in peace.
