KBSU and HSE will launch a master’s program in «Teacher Training Education» on September 1

In the new academic year, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU) and the Higher School of Economics will launch a master’s program in «Teacher Training Education».

It is designed for graduates of bachelor’s degrees in both pedagogical and any other fields of study, that is, having mastered one or another science, a young specialist will also be able to obtain pedagogical competencies.

This will be a part-time and part-time program: the correspondence part will be based on HSE online courses, and as part of the full-time part, HSE teachers will come to Nalchik twice a year. During their studies, KBSU master’s students will be able to work in project teams and participate in seminars together with students from the Moscow campus of HSE. In addition, Moscow colleagues will provide methodological consultations to KBSU teachers.

Students will study the theory of pedagogy and various aspects of educational psychology, learn to use pedagogical methods and tools necessary for work in a modern school. The program includes the following modules: «The Role of Education in the Development of Society», «Creating a Motivating Educational Environment», «Psychology of Education», as well as seminars.

As Yulia Koreshnikova, academic director of the Master’s program «Teacher Training Education» at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, explains, the educational process will be based on the principle of learning by doing — learning by doing, when students immediately apply in practice what they have learned. For this purpose, interaction with schools is envisaged, where they will teach lessons. At the project seminar, students will be able to analyze their work at school from a methodological point of view, and at the research seminar, they will consider it in the context of the latest achievements in pedagogical science.

As stated in the agreement between the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov and the Higher School of Economics, graduates of the master’s program «Pedagogical Education» will receive diplomas from two universities.
