KBSU: advanced training program for the organization of project activities
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov The Department for Support of NTI Projects and Lifelong Education implements activities within the framework of the program of academic strategic leadership «Priority 2030.» The director of the department, assistant to the rector of KBSU Tanzilya Makhieva said:
«A new additional professional advanced training program developed at KBSU «Organization of project activities at the university in the context of a strategic development program» has been launched, designed to improve the skills of employees, management personnel of the university and organizations of secondary vocational education participating in implementation of project-oriented educational programs. It is aimed at improving professional competencies, forming students’ ideas about the principles of organization and logic of project activities, its place in the educational process of an educational institution; skills in planning, organizing and managing project activities in classroom and extracurricular work with students; skills of joint work and business communication with students in the process of their participation in project activities».
The lecturers are the Head of the Department of Russian Language and General Linguistics of the KBSU, Doctor of Philology, Professor Svetlana Bashieva and Director of the Social and Humanitarian Institute, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of World History Muslim Tamazov. Professor S. Bashieva explained:
«The 36-hour course includes four modules. In the lessons of module I «Theoretical and methodological foundations of project activities», students will receive general information about the program «Organization of project activities at a university in the context of a strategic development program», learn about the goals, objectives, requirements for using the project method, features and main characteristics of project-based learning , the history of the emergence and development of the project-based learning method, as well as get acquainted with the classification of projects. The principles of pedagogical design, the integrative nature of project activities, project-based learning as the basis of students’ entrepreneurial competencies, in particular business design, will be discussed in module II «Project activities in the educational process of the university».
The third module of the course is devoted to the organization and management of students’ project activities. At this stage, students will get acquainted with the basic requirements for a student project, such as the relevance of the topic, novelty, depth of problem analysis, originality, design culture, etc. They will learn how to select a project team, study the “teacher-student” interaction model, and get acquainted with the criteria for successful communication of team members. The module «Results of project activities» will help students to correctly design and present the project in order to receive a high expert assessment».
Upon completion of the training, students of the advanced training program will have such competencies as the ability to manage a project at all stages of its life cycle, organize and manage team work, developing a team strategy to achieve the goal.
