Release date: 13.10.2025

The unique atmosphere of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, combining tradition and innovation, has created the ideal conditions for unlocking the potential of students and young faculty. From supporting youth startups to organizing large-scale cultural festivals, KBSU has provided its students and young professionals with every opportunity to implement their most ambitious projects.

Here are a few highlights from the vibrant life of KBSU youth in 2025.

In 2025, KBSU once again participated in the federal project «University Shifts.» More than 1,550 high school students from various regions of Russia attended our university. The program placed special emphasis on psychological support for children from the LPR, DPR, and Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The students not only had the opportunity to learn about the university and its professions but also to relax and explore the picturesque corners of Kabardino-Balkaria.

The «Student Spring 2025» arts festival identified the most talented and active students at KBSU. The team from the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Physical Education and Sports Education and the Pedagogical College won the competition. Furthermore, young KBSU talents Ramzan Malofeev and Yasmina Maremova won second place at the «Russian Student Spring» competition, captivating the jury with their performance of a Georgian national dance.

KBSU successfully hosted the first international festival, «Interfest 2025,» bringing together students from many countries. The event became a vibrant symbol of friendship and a platform for exploring different cultures. Guests were able to sample national dishes, participate in master classes, and learn more about the traditions of various countries. It has been decided to make the festival an annual event, establishing International Student Day at KBSU, which will be celebrated on May 23.

The North Caucasus Media Forum «EthnoArkan» has become a tradition at the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of KBSU. In 2025, it brought together young media professionals from the North Caucasus regions, as well as from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. The forum served as a platform for developing students’ media competencies and strengthening interethnic interaction. Participants enjoyed master classes, an immersive media quest, and a costume party in national costumes.

The most charming and talented student of the university was chosen at the «Miss KBSU 2025» beauty and talent contest. Alina Leshchuk (Institute of Management, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry) was crowned the winner.

Spectacular sporting events and resounding victories: KBSU not only supports the development of mass sports but also trains top-level athletes.

The first North Caucasus Student Festival of Folk Games and National Sports, «Strength in Unity,» became a true celebration of sports and friendship. Over 1,500 students from all regions of the district, as well as the LPR, DPR, and Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, competed in 10 disciplines, demonstrating not only strength and agility but also respect for traditions. The festival became a symbol of unity and mutual support, while traditional courtyards, folk craft workshops, and the vibrant lezginka created a unique festive atmosphere.

«Our strength lies in unity and friendship, and this strengthens our country,» emphasized Acting Rector of KBSU Yuriy Altudov, welcoming the participants.

Timur Arbuzov’s triumph was also a source of pride. In June 2025, KBSU graduate Timur Arbuzov won a gold medal at the World Judo Championships in Budapest. This victory was the first for the Russian team at this championship.
