International Day of Friendship at KBSU: stories that inspire

Release date: 31.07.2025

At the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU) they are sure that friendship knows no bounds. Today, on International Friendship Day, we want to tell stories that are born right here, within the walls of KBSU. After all, our university is not just an educational institution, it is a place where personalities are formed, hearts open and strong, sincere friendly ties are created, uniting students from different parts of the world.

Quest of Destiny

Second-year students of the Social and Humanitarian Institute (SHI) of KBSU Victoria Misostishhova and Milana Shomakhova are sure that their friendship is a gift from the university. “It all started during one of the quests from our institute,” says Victoria. “Milana and I went through a stage together right on this alley.” Now the girls are not only friends, but also fellow volunteers. Now they work in the admissions office of KBSU, where they consult applicants together. “I am very grateful to the university for giving me the opportunity to meet a friend like Victoria,” Milana shares.

Interclub – a meeting place

SGI student Alima Atmurzaeva from Nalchik and future doctor Kurani Yatharth, who came from India, found each other in the international friendship club of KBSU. “Alima is the chairperson of the interclub, that’s where we met, and then gradually we just started communicating more and more,” Yatharth recalls. “Yatharth is the person I can always rely on,” Alima admits. “There was a very touching moment at the inter-forum that we organized for foreign students when he, tying a thread on my hand, said a lot of nice words to me. At that moment, I realized that I have a wonderful, cool friend.”

From studies to strong friendship

Sieda Safiyanz and Ankita Kumari are originally from India. The 2nd-year students of the KBSU Medical Academy found common interests during their studies. “We went to classes and did homework together. We really became friends thanks to the university,” adds Syeda. “During the summer holidays last year, we had a lot of fun spending time with each other. And now, a year later, we are still friends.”

Here, within the walls of KBSU, students from different cities and countries study, with different traditions and outlooks on life, but with common dreams and aspirations.

We believe that the friendships that are made at the university are not just pleasant memories, but a solid foundation for the future. May your student friendship warm you in difficult times, inspire you to great things and help you move forward — to new knowledge, achievements and accomplishments. Happy International Friendship Day!
