Incredible adventures of foreign students of KBSU

Ayran, hedlibzhe, pancakes, hiking in the sights of Nalchik and trips to the Chegem waterfalls, the Elbrus region and the resorts of the KavMinvod… Tourist and cultural and educational activities of foreign students of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov will envy anyone.

In KBSU, 11% of the total number of students are foreigners. The Higher School of International Education of KBSU implements educational, educational, cultural, educational, research work, as well as the university’s strategy in the field of international cooperation, international academic mobility, provides foreign students with visa support and migration registration within the framework of its authority.

For comfortable adaptation at KBSU, foreigners are attracted to participate in various projects and events by the curators of the compatriots of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan Emma Kokova and the Republic of Yemen, countries of Africa and Asia Tatyana Romanova.

On February 17, students of the Institute of Chemistry and Biology and ISHE participated in the project «My friend is a foreigner.» The project is aimed at developing students’ interest in studying geography, history and culture of different countries of the world, forming a respectful attitude towards the traditions of different peoples of the world. The guys from the preparatory department shared their impressions of participating in the project.

Kuteiba from Jordan: It was a good meeting for acquaintance between Arabs and Russians. I hope such sessions will be repeated!

Ahmed from Egypt: At this meeting, we got acquainted with the geography of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The local guys told us about their culture and food.

On February 19, 2023, foreign students of KBSU, studying at the preparatory department, went on a walking tour of Nalchik, organized by the curators of the ISHE. On the tour, students learned about the history of the city and its most interesting places. The tour was held in parallel in Russian and in English, which made the event accessible to foreign students who have recently studied Russian.

Lynn from Syria: We enjoyed meeting with local students, we made friends. They told us about the city, the republic, traditions and customs. The guys promised to continue to maintain friendly relations with us.

On February 22, 2023, ISHE students got acquainted with the Slavic tradition of celebrating Maslenitsa at the Scientific and Educational Center of the Russian Language and Culture of KBSU. The children learned about the history, rituals of the holiday and tried traditional pancakes.

On February 26, thanks to the curators, foreign students were lucky enough to visit the Chegem waterfalls. During the exciting trip, the guys had time to take a lot of colorful photos, which they will be proud to show to their families and friends.
