Hermitage Days in St. Petersburg and the Hermitage-Caucasus Center of KBSU

From 2 to 9 December, the traditional celebration of the Hermitage Days took place in St. Petersburg. The museum prepared special programs for new exhibitions and celebrations.

The Hermitage Days include the tradition, revived in 2013, to celebrate on December 9 (the date the hall was consecrated and put into operation) the Day of St. George the Victorious, one of the most revered saints in Christianity, the patron saint of the Russian state and the army. The scene of action is the throne St. George’s Hall. The ceremonial events that took place on December 9 coincided with the birthday of the honorary professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. HM. Berbekov, member of the Board of Trustees of the KBSU, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky.

Albert Saralp, director of the cultural and educational center of the Hermitage-Caucasus KBSU, congratulated him on behalf of the many thousands of KBSU staff. Albert Alexandrovich spoke about the work of the university management in implementing measures to form the only university center of the State Hermitage Museum in Russia, “The Hermitage-Caucasus”.

The first stage has been implemented to adapt the cultural heritage site “The House in which Soviet power was proclaimed in March 1918 and in 1921 a decision was made to form the Kabardian Autonomous Region” to the location of the Hermitage-Caucasus CCC for the Hermitage-Caucasus center. It should be reminded that from 12 to 14 October KBSU hosted the “Days of the Hermitage in the North Caucasus”, which included exhibitions, round tables, film screenings, meetings and lectures with the participation of specialists from the State Hermitage.
