From School to the Heights of Engineering: KBSU Hosted a Career Guidance Meeting for Students of «Sunny City»

Release date: 19.03.2026

A career guidance meeting was held at the Institute of Electronics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov (KBSU). Students from the «Sunny City» Children’s Creativity Academy attended the meeting. The students were introduced to the prospects of engineering education and immersed in the world of high technology.

Associate Professor of the Mechatronics and Robotics Department Fatimat Tseeva spoke to prospective students about the institute’s educational activities, which are aimed at training qualified and in-demand specialists for high-tech sectors of Russia’s innovative economy. Students study mechanical engineering, electronics, information security, robotics, and control, making extensive use of modern computer technology and microprocessor system programming. The success of the institute’s education is confirmed by its achievements: undergraduate and graduate students regularly win academic competitions and receive scholarships from the President and Government of the Russian Federation, as well as the Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

Students and researchers have access to over 40 educational and research laboratories, as well as two innovative scientific and educational centers. They are equipped with world-class, high-tech equipment.

The academic department’s scientific potential is supported by nine doctors of science and 21 candidates of science. The faculty includes Honored Scientists and Engineers of the Russian Federation and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, as well as members of various academies, including the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the New York Academy of Sciences.

A separate section of the meeting was devoted to the fields of «Robotics» and «Artificial Intelligence,» which, according to Fatimat Tseeva, «will determine the face of civilization in the next 50 years.»

«Robotics is not a single profession, but an entire cluster.» «Graduates can become design engineers, embedded control system developers, computer vision engineers, systems architects, or R&D engineers. The institute closely collaborates with 45 specialized organizations, where students complete internships,» the teacher explained to the students.

The meeting resonated with the Sunny City students.

Daniyar, a 10th-grade student, shared his impressions:

«I really liked how the topics of innovation and robotics were presented. This approach to explanation inspires a desire to create something myself and grow professionally in this field. I see enormous potential in this field and feel a strong personal interest.»

Sofia, also a 10th-grade student majoring in engineering and information technology, shared her career path:

«My parents—my father is an engineer and my mother is a mathematician—instilled in me an interest in the exact sciences from an early age. Already in second grade, while attending a robotics club at Solnechny Gorod, I realized that robots and artificial intelligence were my calling. Six years of passion for this field strengthened my desire to dedicate myself to AI development, technology advancement, and implementation.»

KBSU’s Institute of Electronics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence welcomes talented students to begin their journey toward significant achievements together.
