From idea to premiere: KBSU students can create their own film project

Until August 31, students of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov can apply for free training in the federal practice-oriented project «Humanitarian Practices: Film School», aimed at teaching students the basics of creating video content and film production. The project is being implemented at the Federal Center for Humanitarian Practices of the Russian State University for the Humanities and will last three months.
At the end of the training, by December 1, the participants will shoot a short film (up to 10 minutes) in one of the following areas:
Year of the Defender of the Fatherland — 2025;
social initiatives of students (you can shoot a film about volunteer movements, for example);
traditional values and cultural heritage.
The film school program starts on September 1 and includes 3 stages:
Online (from September 1)
Video lectures, seminars, master classes and consultations from film industry professionals. You will create a script, assemble a film crew and defend the project at a pitching.
Offline (from October 10, Moscow)
The best projects (at least 3) will receive equipment and support from mentors. In a week, you will shoot and pre-edit the material.
Screening (until November 20)
Teams complete post-production, submit their work, and the best films will be included in the promotion program.
The curators will be:
Elena Alferova — director of documentary films and television, VGIK graduate, film festival selector, teacher at film schools, curator of film laboratories at festivals.
Natalia Egorova is a journalist, editor, producer, director, screenwriter, graduate of the Russian State University for the Humanities, candidate of philological sciences, teacher of the screenwriting course, creator of the telegram channel «Pitchings».
Nikita Sutyrin is a director, screenwriter, journalist, teacher, graduate of VGIK. Author of films for the country’s leading TV channels.
