Found her calling in midwifery
Amina Kaskulova was born in Baksan, studied at secondary school No. Baksan, then graduated from the Kabardino-Balkarian Agrarian University named after V.M. Kokov, faculty «Technology of production and processing of agricultural products», having received a diploma with honors.
Then a second diploma, as she simultaneously studied at the Faculty of Economics in the direction of «Accounting, Analysis and Audit». She published scientific articles, became a scholarship holder of the Head of the KBR. Actively participated in conferences, competitions, forums, competitions — Amina loves sports. She completed an internship in the field of tourism in Turkey. Two years ago I entered the medical college of KBSU, choosing the direction of «Obstetrics».
Complete training, except for «excellent», does not imagine. The girl is convinced that now she has found her calling! Amina’s example is not the only one — young people are now deciding to radically change their lives and professions. But still it is interesting what laid in her such a confident character and why she decided to associate herself with obstetrics. After all, it all started in completely different areas.
My family is a storehouse of teachers and doctors
There are stages in my life that are not similar to each other in that they occur in different areas. My family is a storehouse of teachers, teachers and doctors. My grandfather, Hasan Muzakirovich KASKULOV, my pride, in the early 60s began working as a pioneer leader in the Baksan Pioneer House, from there he transferred as an educator to the Baksan boarding school, then worked at school No. 1 in Baksan as a teacher of biology and geography. At the end of the 60s, he became deputy director for educational work, and in 1974 he was approved for the position of head of the Baksan district, where he worked until 1980, from 1983 to 1991 he worked as director of secondary school No. 1.
In 1991 he was elected chairman of the city council of the city. Baksan. From 1993 until the end of his life, he served as chairman of the Council of Veterans. He treated me like an eldest granddaughter with special trepidation, I remember when he picked me up from school, the teachers warmly welcomed him, they always remembered him with a kind word. Grandmother — Nera Mazhidovna began her career in 1964 as a teacher of Russian language and literature in secondary school No. 2 in Baksan. She was the assistant principal for elementary school. Then she became a teacher of Russian language and literature. Work experience at school – 47 years. She had absolute knowledge of these subjects and exceptional teaching abilities.
Uncle — Husen Muzakirovich KASKULOV, after graduating from high school, served in the Black Sea Fleet, he was very fond of sports. He became the winner of the boxing championship of the Black Sea Fleet. After the end of the service, he entered the KBSU in the direction of «General Medicine». He successfully completed the full course of study, underwent residency at the Leningrad Medical Institute. Since the late 70s, he worked as a neurosurgeon in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republican Clinical Hospital. In this field he has achieved great success. Since 1992, he worked as the head of the neurosurgery department. He is the owner of the «Golden Scalpel» in the field of neurosurgery, became a candidate of biological sciences, simultaneously taught at the university and hosted a program on KBR television.
My father, Muhamed Hasanovich KASKULOV, began working in 2002 as deputy director of the Baksan district sports school. In 2010, he became the director of secondary school No. 3 with. Islamey. Since 2012, he has been the chief specialist in youth work and sports of the district administration. He organizes and conducts regional, republican and all-Russian competitions in various sports. Sister Zhaneta is a first-year student at KBSU, Faculty of Information Security, a future hacker, as I call her. While still at school, I became interested in computers.
Mom — Maryana Mukhadinovna graduated from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education, worked as a teacher of Russian language and literature for ten years. A few years ago, I asked her: “Mom, what did you dream of becoming as a child?” I thought I would answer: «A teacher, a doctor or an actress.» But to my surprise, she said that she wanted to be a seamstress. I asked again: “Was it really your dream?” Without a shred of doubt, she then answered: «Yes.»
At 42, she performed it. Now he works in the sewing workshop «VoenTekstilProm», which was recently opened with the participation of the Head of the KBR Kazbek KOKOV. The workshop provides our servicemen with uniforms. The company is engaged in sewing uniforms, uniforms for the needs of the army, police and rescuers. The work requires a lot of work, but she likes it, she does what her soul lies in. He says that in terms of speed and quality of sewing, he is not inferior to experienced colleagues in the shop. Motivation In every family, succession plays a big role, the process of education is formed in accordance with the life stages passed by previous generations. The Soviet school has always been famous for its versatile high-quality education, which left its mark on the choice of profession by my ancestors. My elders used every opportunity that existed in their time to give their children higher education in accordance with their life preferences. It often happens that in educational institutions and not only where I visit, I hear the question: “Who are you related to ..?” — and call one of my elders.
It can’t help but motivate. There is, in my opinion, the correct opinion that a person is never lazy if he does his favorite job, does what he really likes. Having become quite an adult, I realized that I really like helping people. Having gone through such areas as agronomy, accounting, tourism, I came to medicine, namely to obstetrics. Sometimes I think that the blood of all my predecessors is playing in me, so for a long time I could not decide who I want to be (laughs). After receiving two higher educations, I am a student again. I am glad that I have such a quality as responsibility, no matter what I undertake, I must do everything with high quality and bring it to the end. And now the last course, the fifth session is closed with «excellent» and now, during the holidays, I am preparing for accreditation and defense of my term paper.
Every semester, doing practice first at the City Clinical Hospital — in the Pediatrics department, then at the antenatal clinic and, finally, at the maternity hospital, I made sure that I had made the right choice, having entered the university again, I realized that I had found myself. About young parents Young parents should educate themselves before planning a family, have minimal knowledge, such as first aid, contraception, parenting, and so on. The optimal age for starting a family, judging from the point of view of my future profession, is from 21 to 35 years old in order to maintain the health of the mother and give birth to healthy children.
The expectant mother should know that her body must be ready for pregnancy so that there are enough reserves to carry the baby. We often hear that after giving birth, women complain about health problems that have arisen. To avoid this, there are many opportunities to educate yourself on this topic. If you correctly use various sources, the Internet, visiting family planning centers, you can avoid problems in many aspects of family life.
Also, during the internship in the maternity hospital, I noticed that women in labor, falling into a panic, do not listen to the doctor and midwife. Listening to advice on proper behavior during labor can greatly ease the pain and the process of childbirth. The Miracle of Birth The tasks of the midwife until the moment of delivery are to be near the mother, to monitor the expectant mother, to provide psychological support, to teach skills such as proper breathing, counting the frequency of contractions, breathing exercises that relieve pain. It helps the women who listen to us. It happened that a woman who was preparing to become a mother for the first time, breathed correctly, did pain-relieving exercises and gave birth within five hours. And the one who had repeated births, because of the wrong behavior, suffered from pain and the birth was delayed. My first experience was unforgettable, listening to the instructions of the doctor, I was with the woman in labor for eight hours, breathing with her, doing a lower back massage. At the moment of delivery, I could not hold back the tears, this is really a miracle that will never be forgotten.
To see a pink ball who had been waiting for a meeting with her mother for nine months, and the haggard, but happy face of her mother, was phenomenal for me. I was in a state of euphoria. After birth, the umbilical cord is not cut immediately, you need to wait for its pulsation to stop, this is important to complete the blood flow between the placenta and the baby. The baby is placed on the mother’s stomach. This is called skin-to-skin contact. Previously, this contact lasted several minutes, but now, according to the protocol, the child is left on the mother’s stomach for an hour. This is how the emotional bond between the child and the mother is formed. In addition, the mother shares her microflora, the child has the same one and it is easier for him to adapt to the environment.
At home I understand the desire of women to give birth with a minimum of medical interventions in a familiar environment with loved ones. But in the event of emergency conditions during childbirth, severe complications can develop associated with the ingress of amniotic fluid into the mother’s bloodstream, detachment of the child’s place with bleeding, and fetal hypoxia may begin. In addition, delivery in non-sterile conditions can lead to the development of septic complications, traumatism of the mother and child. After the child has been removed from the mother’s abdomen, it must be placed under a heat lamp, and since this is not possible at home, hypothermia syndrome may occur, which leads to respiratory disorders.
At home, without medicines and equipment, it is almost impossible to save the mother. A healthy woman can bleed out and die in less than two hours. Massive bleeding can begin imperceptibly. Therefore, the woman is under the supervision of a doctor in the birth unit for another two hours. My strong belief is that you need to give birth only in a medical institution and under the supervision of medical staff. As should be My example and guide in midwifery will be a medical stuff, where she practiced, as well as protocols and standards in obstetrics. During the internship, I really liked the way our doctors and midwives communicate and tell expectant mothers how to behave, what to do and how to act in the future after the birth of a baby.
It often happens that women in labor because of pain panic and forget about everything. At such moments, the midwife’s tactics are very important, which should help morally, calm, support, make it clear to the woman that she is not alone and soon everything will be resolved safely. I believe that obstetricians are indispensable employees of maternity hospitals, if necessary, they can take on the duties of a ward nurse. They are responsible for women in labor and newborns, monitor their health and condition after childbirth.
At my own request, I remained on duty at the maternity hospital in Baksan and I can say with confidence that the most important characteristic of a midwife is endurance, since you need to spend a lot of time on your feet. Hobbies and social life I love sports very much, since school I have won prizes in running and table tennis competitions, while studying at KBGAU I was a member of the volleyball team. Now I devote a lot of time to study and practical exercises, I am glad that physical education in the curriculum lasts until the end of my studies. In physical education, we spend physical strength, but I rest my soul, I understand that all the forces that I left will return to me in the form of a positive mood and improved immune, circulatory, musculoskeletal systems and more. I love biathlon very much, I never miss competitions on sports channels. I root for our athletes, follow their sports career. I enjoy visiting the Kabardian theater. I have always been an organizer of many events.
She acted as a presenter, curator, commander of various teams. And now I try not to fall out of this rut. Since the first year of study I have been participating in competitions, conferences, brain-rings in anatomy, physiological obstetrics, gynecology. Thanks to the knowledge gained from our highly qualified teachers, I also take prizes. I study in a friendly group of girls, with the teachers of our college we are holding an international action «Candle of Memory» in memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. I also like to watch series about medicine — “The Good Doctor”, “Medical Wisdom”, “Call the Midwife”.
