Foreign students of KBSU became part of the «Movement of the First»

Volunteer organizations of foreign students of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov were included in the primary regional branch of the «Movement of the First», which was solemnly opened on February 1, 2023 on the basis of the Resource Center for the Development of Volunteering (Volunteerism) of the KBR.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth Affairs of the KBR Azamat Lyuev, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the KBR Ekaterina Misostova and representatives of youth creative and volunteer organizations.

«The “Movement of the First” is a new youth social trend, built on the basis of traditional Russian spiritual and moral goals, which unites more than 24 children’s youth public organizations in Russia, as well as 12 areas of activity in which every child can find something new and interesting. It is envisaged that schoolchildren and students themselves must create branches of the movement in their schools and educational institutions. This is a certain process, responsibility, children sign documents, they feel more mature and more important for their school, city, for their country», — Azamat Lyuev addressed the guests.

After the solemn part, those present were divided into four thematic areas:

«Business game» with young volunteers, training in social design, presentation of the work of the #WeTogether headquarters and a round table with foreign students. Students of the Faculty of Medicine of the KBSU Nzhekva Kelvin, Verma Vikas, Divan Neha, Mishra Ashish, Mishra Sveta, Yadav Shubhangi and Santos Nandita, under the guidance of Zarema Bagova, Deputy Director of the University’s Scientific Library for Work with Foreign Users, prepared and presented presentations on various areas of volunteering: healthcare, ecology , sports, helping animals, inclusive volunteerism, helping the older generation and searching for the missing. The marathon for the opening of the primary branches of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth «Movement of the First» is taking place these days in all regions of Russia.

By the end of 2023, it is planned to open about 10 thousand primary branches of the RDDM throughout the country. The activities of the movement are aimed at organizing leisure, creating opportunities for comprehensive development and self-realization, as well as professional orientation for children.

You can join the movement from the age of six. Participants can be minors studying in the programs of primary general, basic general, secondary vocational and higher education.
