Foreign students of KBSU are warned against tragic mistakes
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov held a meeting of the inspector for juvenile affairs, senior police lieutenant Dzharimas Tashev with students of the Higher School of International Education. An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told foreign students about responsibility for administrative offenses and criminal offenses committed on the territory of the Russian Federation, types of crimes and offenses and the timing of liability. He also paid special attention to the issue of drug control. Dzharimas Tashev noted:
Today our goal is to hold a preventive conversation in order to prevent administrative offenses and criminal offenses that are most often committed by foreign citizens, as a rule, either by mistake or out of ignorance. Recently, unfortunately, cases of offenses and crimes committed by foreigners have become more frequent.
Previously, foreign citizens were brought to administrative responsibility only under the articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses related to the violation of temporary registration. Last year there were three cases of criminal offenses related to drug trafficking committed by foreigners. And here it is worth noting that in Russia for crimes related to the consumption, storage, transportation of narcotic drugs, according to the laws of the Russian Federation, criminal liability is provided from the age of 16 years. These crimes are serious.
During the conversation, KBSU students from foreign countries had the opportunity to ask questions on the voiced and any other legal topic. At the end of the meeting, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told the students how to behave and where to turn if they find items that look like drugs.
