To discuss national projects, the role of the public in their implementation, the conditions and problems of sustainable development of the North Caucasus, more than 25 speakers and experts from all over the country, including government officials, representatives of business and science gathered to exchange views on the urgent challenges and opportunities related to the planned development of the region. about 500 people will take part in panel discussions and round tables of the forum.

Speaking about the urgent need for such a forum, the rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov stressed:

“The well-being of future generations is being built now, and we are determined to do everything we can to give them a world full of opportunities.
This requires fundamentally new approaches to economic development — the achievement of socially and environmentally sustainable growth, in which, for example, environmental projects are transformed from a cost point into a growth driver.
At the same time, it is important to understand the specifics of the North Caucasus, which has recently been included in the number of priority geostrategic territories of the Russian Federation. Mountain areas are particularly sensitive to negative economic, social and environmental processes, being a capacious focus of the application of all 17 sustainable development goals. Therefore, we see a deep potential for the implementation of national projects in the North Caucasus, which are undoubtedly a powerful and fast tool for the sustainable development of territories.
It is extremely important that the university is chosen as the forum site. Realizing the growing importance of higher schools in the development of regions, we are ready to share our accumulated knowledge and are open to new ideas and opinions,” — said Altudov.

Boris Y. Shuvalov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party, read out on behalf of the Chairman of the High Council of the United Russia Party Boris Gryzlov. In particular, it stated:

“National goals and national projects become the basis for the joint work of public organizations, social movements, professional communities, representatives of science and education. The United Russia party sees support of such work as one of the most important tasks. To this end, by decision of the United Russia High Council, the Sustainable Development Group was established, which included representatives of the Party and representatives of social forces. The Group’s unconditional priorities include work in the regions of the Federation, monitoring the regional situation, and supporting national projects at the regional level.
For this reason, the Sustainable Development Group actively supported the initiative to hold the forum, which emerged here in Kabardino-Balkaria. This is an important step towards more active participation of regional social forces, the scientific and educational community, and regional business in the implementation of national projects. This is an important step towards strengthening the interaction of authorities at all levels, as well as towards strengthening interregional cooperation.

I wish the organizers and participants of the forum high results in their work for the good of the country, new achievements in professional and social activities and all the best. ”
