Festive concert for the centenary of the KBSU Pedagogical College
On December 20th the Pedagogical College of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov celebrated its centenary.
Deputies of the Kabardino-Balkarian Parliament, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic, cultural, scientific and sports figures gathered in the A.N. Sokurov Cinema and Concert Hall. The guests of honor of the evening were veterans of the pedagogical college and colleagues from colleges of the regions of the North Caucasus.
The first vice-rector of KBSU Murat Gukepshokov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech:
Your work, colleagues, preserves spiritual values in society. As a lawyer, I can say that justice and education go hand in hand. You, the devotees of pedagogical work, bring the light of goodness and justice to your students. Let us remember our past, thank you for your work and look to the future, laying the foundations for our children. Thank you for your invaluable contribution. Happy holiday!
The welcoming address on behalf of the Chairperson of the Parliament of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Tatyana Egorova was read by the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic Murat Kardanov:
The Pedagogical College of KBSU is the oldest educational institution in Kabardino-Balkaria, whose history is inextricably linked with the history of the republic. The college has become a real forge of teaching staff, giving a start in life to thousands of students and teachers. Today, it is developing dynamically, preparing specialists for the education system in relevant areas. The current generation of teachers and students has the honor of opening a new chapter in the history of the college, continuing the glorious traditions of their predecessors and laying the foundation for the future. I congratulate everyone on the anniversary and wish you good health, prosperity and success in achieving your goals!
Warm words and congratulations were also heard from the main employer of the graduates of the pedagogical college — the Minister of Education and Science of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Anzor Ezaov:
The centenary anniversary is an event not only for the university, but also an important milestone for our entire republic. After all, our pedagogical college trains personnel for the entire region. We are proud of its graduates and those who stood at the origins of the educational institution, laying the foundation of the education system. Many thanks to our veterans, thanks to whom today we can be proud of our teachers and schoolchildren. On this anniversary day, we express our gratitude to them and wish them health and prosperity. We are looking forward to seeing the graduates of the pedagogical college in our schools — now their role is more important than ever. After all, a teacher is not just a profession, it is a calling on which the future of our children depends, — said the minister.
The evening was decorated with performances by local pop stars. Vocal numbers were performed by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Cherim Nakhushev, People’s Artist of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Amur Tekuev and Amina Daova. Famous state dance groups came to congratulate the pedagogical college on its centenary: the ensembles «Kabardinka», «Balkaria» and «Terskie Kazaki».
The festive concert ended with a musical composition familiar to every student and teacher at KBSU — the song «University Waltz». Its lyrics were written by the people’s poet of the Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR Alim Keshokov. It was performed by Zhanneta Ulbasheva with the support of the «Kalisto» ensemble.
