Release date: 09.06.2025

The new admission campaign starts on June 20 and specialists from the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov told us everything about the nuances of admission this year.

9 institutes, a medical academy and 4 colleges of KBSU will hospitably open their doors to applicants, offering a wide range of educational programs. It is interesting to note that every year more and more young people are striving to enroll in IT programs, the demand for pedagogical programs is growing, but traditionally, medical education remains the most popular. There is also a consistently high competition for jurisprudence, economics and management.

KBSU has a wide range of specialties — over 300 educational programs. This year, for the first time, budget places were allocated for the Clinical Psychology program.

Documents can be submitted either through the State Services portal through the «Online University Admission» service, or in person.

Along with the documents, the admissions committee accepts the applicant’s portfolio of achievements. For this, KBSU generously adds points to the Unified State Exam results.

At the university, 10 points are added for having a gold or silver medal, as well as a certificate with honors. For winning the Abilympics and Professionals competitions, there are also 10 points. For a gold or silver GTO badge — 3 points. Volunteer book holders will receive from 1 to 3 points. For the final essay, which school graduates write in December — 1 point. Winners and prize-winners of KBSU Olympiads can also add 3-10 points to their Unified State Exam points. For the Candidate for Master of Sports sports category, 6 additional points are given,

— explained the head of the Department for Pre-University Training and Career Guidance Work at KBSU, Albina Vindizheva.

20% of budget places in all areas of training are allocated to preferential categories of applicants. 10% — to families of SVO participants and children of Heroes of the Russian Federation. And another 10% is a special quota. The right to participate in the competition within the framework of the special quota are orphans and children left without parental care; disabled children, disabled people of groups I and II, disabled from childhood or after a military injury; veterans of military operations.

Applicants who go under the quota are not exempt from the competition upon admission, but participate in a separate selection. If the beneficiary does not pass it, then he can enter under the general conditions. That is, he can again apply for the budget, but will have to compete with all applicants,

— noted the head of the admissions department of KBSU Amina Kogotyzheva.

During the new admissions campaign, KBSU plans to accept 1,619 applicants for budget places in the areas of higher education and 461 people for secondary vocational education. Traditionally, many foreign citizens become students of the state university.

During the year, large-scale work was carried out to attract foreign students to the university. KBSU banners were placed in cities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and even China. In addition to this, there was participation in career guidance exhibitions, and the organization of information platforms through Rossotrudnichestvo. An important point is that we check potential applicants everywhere for knowledge of the Russian language, so that we have an understanding of whether these are Russian-speaking children or not,

— shared Albina Vindizheva.
