Experts from the regional branch of the National Bank of Russia held a lecture for students of KBSU
On October 30, an open lecture on financial literacy was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. Vyacheslav Chechenov, head of the Economic Department of the Bank of Russia — National Bank of the Russian Federation for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, told the students about the basics of the monetary policy of the country’s main bank and its role in the Russian economy.
The discussion focused on how the modern economy works and why it is important to manage inflation. Vyacheslav Chechenov explained to the audience how the inflation rate is calculated, what its growth threatens and what dangers a sharp decline poses. The students also learned what the growth of the state’s economy depends on, how monetary policy can influence it and how decisions are made on the key rate of the Bank of Russia.
Vyacheslav Chechenov answered the students’ questions and wished the young people success in their studies:
I hope that after our meeting, your understanding of macroeconomics and the economy of our country will deepen significantly. This is an important area of knowledge that has a direct impact on our daily lives and the future of our society. I wish you continued success in your studies, because it is you, the younger generation, who will shape the future of our small republic and the country as a whole. Not only your personal destiny, but also the well-being of the entire society depends on how deep and extensive your knowledge is,
— said a representative of the regional branch of the National Bank of Russia.
