Evening in honor of KBSU natural scientists who contributed to the Victory over fascism
The Institute of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov held a memorial evening dedicated to the significant contribution of biologists, chemists and geographers to the defeat of Nazi Germany. This event was held as part of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
A member of the KBSU veterans’ organization, associate professor of the Department of Biology, Geoecology and Molecular Genetic Foundations Lyubov Kalashnikova spoke about the heroism and dedication of KBSU teachers who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945.
The students of the institute prepared a presentation on the invaluable contribution of natural scientists to the Victory. They emphasized that many of the studies and developments conducted by scientists during the war played an important role in providing the front with the necessary resources and technologies.
Students from Turkmenistan studying at the institute gratefully noted the assistance of their homeland, which provided significant support in the fight against Nazi Germany.
The evening was filled with creative performances: songs and poems were performed, imbued with sorrow and hope. The culmination of the event was the performance of the teachers’ choir, whose performance of war songs deeply touched the listeners, reminding them of those difficult and heroic times.
Thus, the memorable evening became not only a tribute to the heroes of the past, but also an important step in the upbringing of the younger generation, which should remember their ancestors and their feat. Memories of heroes remain alive when we continue to tell their stories and pass on their meaning to future generations.
