Entrepreneurship is taught at KBSU
At the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, students from various fields of study attend lectures, participate in discussions, and workshops on topics not covered in the curriculum of future specialists in medicine, law, social sciences and humanities, engineering, and IT.
Self-realization in the entrepreneurial niche allows students and graduates to create jobs for themselves and others, pursue their passions, work for themselves, set their own work schedule, and achieve success in traditional businesses or startups. Students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to implement their business ideas by participating in events aimed at developing youth technology entrepreneurship, which are held at KBSU’s «Boiling Point» as part of various projects.
Two educational programs of the 2025 autumn business accelerator – «Azau» and «Sosruko» – implemented by the Department of NTI Project Support and Continuous Education at KBSU as part of the federal project «Technologies» of the national project «Efficient and Competitive Economy» of the Russian Federation state program «Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation» – engaged hundreds of university students in an engaging learning and networking process. Project teams were formed from these students, whose members proposed the most interesting technology startup ideas at the project’s launch.
Through lectures, discussions, workshops, and workshops led by mentors and experienced entrepreneurs, participants developed an understanding of how to implement such ideas. They learned about a minimum viable product (MVP), how to obtain feedback from potential customers to formulate hypotheses for further product development, and the potential financial and other risks involved in building a business and launching a new product.
Market and competitor analysis, target audience segmentation, and the advantages of the NTI technology entrepreneurship development ecosystem—these and many other topics are being discussed with KBSU students by representatives of the business community and university faculty.
Z.A. Nakhusheva, PhD in Physics and Mathematics and Associate Professor in the Department of Algebra and Differential Equations at KBSU, has been conducting classes with Azau accelerator participants for several weeks.
«One of the goals of this project is to channel students’ entrepreneurial potential so that they gain a more concrete understanding of this field, their capabilities, and ways to achieve their goals,» explained Zarema Adamovna. «I consider it extremely important to communicate the advantages of the National Technology Initiative’s technology entrepreneurship development ecosystem for startups. The NTI ecosystem provides the necessary resources and support. For example, specialists conduct training, and experts can provide free in-person and online consultations and suggest possible steps for further promoting a business idea.
The government is interested in the development of small technology companies and is allocating the necessary funds for this purpose. Funding for the federal «Technology» project will exceed 26 billion rubles this year and next, and a total of 180 billion rubles are planned for these purposes by 2030, according to a joint decision by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Entrepreneurs are not left alone to face their problems; they can always take advantage of the support tools provided by the government. This is important for young people planning a career in business to understand.»
