Director of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Olga Mikhailenko and methodologist of the psychological and pedagogical laboratory Anastasia Moshura made a presentation at the VIII International Conference «Fundamental and Applied Aspects of Consciousness Recovery after Brain Injury: An Interdisciplinary Approach». The forum takes place on May 10 — 13 on the basis of the Baltic Federal University named after I.Kant in Kaliningrad.
We presented the report “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosomatic Pathologies. This is a very relevant topic, since according to WHO, about 40% of outpatient patients have psychosomatic pathologies. One type of psychotherapy that has proven effective with somatic patients is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is used for a wide range of illnesses. On the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, there is a problem of a shortage of specialists in the field of psychology, in connection with this, in 2022, at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Education of the KBSU, the direction of preparing the specialty program «Clinical Psychology» was opened and a psychological and pedagogical laboratory was created, at on which the research is based.

More than two hundred specialists in the field of neurosurgery and neurotraumatology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, neurology, psychiatry, philosophy of mind, neurolinguistics, psychology, neurophysiology, physical and rehabilitation medicine, medical and social expertise take part in the conference.
