A round table “Scientific and methodological support for teachers in a multilingual environment” was held at the Bashkir State Pedagogical University. The dialogue was attended by employees of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Education and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

Among the meeting participants were representatives of the federal department, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Belarus, as well as representatives of multilingual schools of the Republic of Belarus and other regions of Russia.

Elvira Aitkulova, member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and member of the Education Committee, greeted those gathered online.

The round table was moderated by the rector of BSPU Salavat Sagitov, who emphasized the importance of the university’s work on issues of multilingual education. He noted that creating a unified basic model for the development of this area in Russia is a serious task:

“The experience that has been gained within the region, at the university level, contributes to making multilingual education truly multilingual.”

It was noted that, by order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, a manual on teaching native languages in grades 5–9 was developed on the basis of the Institute for Educational Development Strategy. Methodological recommendations are posted in the public domain on the website of the Federal Institute of Mother Languages.

At this age, young people are actively at risk of losing their native language due to learning in another language. It is important to use techniques that will help maintain and strengthen the skills of your native language, achieving functional balance. Teachers from BSPU and other regions of Russia took part in the development. Multilingual models, new methodological approaches, gaming and digital technologies have been developed to contribute to this goal,

– noted the chairman of the presidium of the World Congress, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, candidate of philological sciences Elvira Aitkulova.

It should be noted that as a result of the visit of the rector of the Bashkirian State Pedagogical University to KBSU, a partnership agreement was concluded. According to the instructions of the acting rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov, the management of IPPiFSO KBSU together with colleagues visited the schools of the republic. University staff monitored knowledge of native languages, as a result of which KBSU scientists developed materials for testing in the Kabardian and Balkar languages.

During the work, methodological recommendations for teaching native languages, developments and results of introducing multilingualism into preschool and primary education, as well as various educational and methodological complexes and educational platforms, Internet resources and electronic manuals were presented.
