Economic aspects of the Victory were discussed at KBSU

An open lecture «Economics and Finance during the Great Patriotic War» was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The lesson, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, was organized for students of the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance as part of the All-Russian educational relay race «My Finances».

IPEF teachers Azamat Tatarov and assistant of the Department of Russian History and Caucasology Roman Skripkin examined how the economy of the Soviet Union adapted to the conditions of the war, what measures were taken to provide for the front and rear, and how economic factors influenced the outcome of the war. The discussion touched on issues of resource mobilization, industrial production, agriculture and the role of scientific research in supporting military efforts.

Lecturers from the Znanie Society — Head of the Career Development Department of KBSU Ratmir Kotsev, Director of the Career Development Center Kristina Lopatina and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Accounting and Analytical Information Systems Zalina Gergova emphasized the importance of a critical approach to information and the need to resist the falsification of history in order to preserve historical truth.

A thematic exhibition was organized for the participants, including printed publications on the history of economics and finance, as well as on the role of finance during the Great Patriotic War. These materials were provided by the KBSU library and the State National Library of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

The audience received comprehensive answers to questions related to the economic history of the USSR, which contributed to deepening their knowledge of the complex economic processes of that time.

The initiative of the educational meeting belongs to the Regional Center for Financial Literacy of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the Russian Znanie Society.
